A Professional Military Education (PME) program should be designed to develop professional mastery. It should not be solely focused on solving the immediate problem, instead it should prepare military professionals to grapple with the challenges they will face in the future.

In ‘Considerations for a Brigade Professional Military Education Program’ Mark provides:

  • a list of potential challenges to creating a PME program,
  • ideas for PME themes,
  • some tools to deliver PME,
  • resource to assist in developing your PME program, and
  • potential design principles.

As the designer and executor of a PME program you should aim to ‘provide PME opportunities that members of the Brigade would kick themselves if they miss’.
