The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) of New South Wales is one of a network of RUSI think tanks across Australia.  They have been contributing to the defence and security debate since 1947.

In 2014 they held a seminar on Amphibious Operations.  The aim was to develop a series of recommendations to be submitted to the Defence White Paper committee.  The Australian Amphibious Task Group provided key inputs into this seminar, and the resulting papers shaped the Australian Amphibious Force that we are part of today.

The outcomes of the Amphibious Operations seminar were recorded in the RUSI NSW journal (Volume 65, Number 3, September 2014 – ISSN 1038-1554).  You can download a copy of the journal for private use here, or by clicking the image above.

It is well worth a read if you are seeking to understand the historical context of today’s amphibious capability.
