The aim of this publication is to explain the nature and characteristics of civil–military cooperation in an area of operations. This doctrine provides interim application level doctrine for the conduct of civil–military operations for use by Army personnel. It is the capstone publication for civil-military cooperation as part of the Land Warfare Doctrine Operation Series.
This publication provides guidance to commanders, staff, the civil–military cooperation unit and personnel conducting civil–military operations. This document may also inform civilian agencies of the approach to civil–military cooperation that will be adopted by Army in an area of operations.
