Video – ‘Meeting Adversity’ from The Longest War: the Australian Army in Afghanistan

This video is part of ‘The Longest War: the Australian Army in Afghanistan’. The documentary consists of a series of short videos highlighting the experiences and successes of life in Afghanistan as told by the soldiers who served there. The videos sometimes includes emotional accounts from soldiers and families telling their stories and vividly recounting the highs and lows of their experiences.

This chapter titled ‘Meeting Adversity’ focuses on telling stories of individual initiative, courage and bravery. It includes footage from actual battles and interviews from soldiers recalling their own accounts of what occurred on the ground. It also gives accounts of wounded soldiers and their medical treatment teams, and first responders who kept them alive.
