With the President of the United States announcing that Islamic State has been territorially defeated in Iraq and Syria, The Director of The Cove, LTCOL Greg Colton, gave this CoveTalk in which he asked: how does Australia win the next war? In lieu of assured technological superiority or mass, he argues that it is through developing the Army’s intellectual capacity – and thus the ability to create relative mass in time and space to achieve an effect against an adversary – that is the answer.
To achieve this intellectual edge, the Directorate of Professional Military Education has developed a framework for providing professional development to all Army’s people, regardless of rank or corps, that is accessible throughout their careers. LTCOL Colton describes this framework and then puts out an open invitation to the Army – what topics would you like to see included?
Comments and feedback, especially regarding the topics for development as education packages available through blended learning, can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Doing so will help us shape the future of your Army, and might just help the Army win the next war.
