Link – ‘Mobilizing for Major War’ via The US Army War College Quarterly

In this article, Bridges and Navarro identify some critical elements of the mobilization process that they believe are currently deficient and require greater attention to enable the US Army to execute a short-notice, full-scale mobilization.

Their recommendations include the development and maintenance of mobilization plans, rehearsal of concept drills and mobilization exercises to test and refine installation mobilization plans.

  • Do you think the ADF needs to be prepared to mobilize a force similar to those deployed during WWI or WWII?
  • If so, how prepared do you think we are to mobilize personnel on that scale?
  • What, if anything, do we need to do in order to be better prepared to execute a short-notice, full scale mobilization?
